Rio Grande GP7 5112 |
Description: |
Where narrow gauge power of the D&RGW and RGS once tread, GP7 5112 trundles freight past the ageing depot at Ridgway. 5112 was built by EMD in June 1952. Like the narrow gauge before, 5112 would disappear from the roster in 1972, having be sold to the Rock Island. It would be rebuilt by the ICG in 1976 as CRI&P 4442. After Rock Island shutdown in 1980, 4442 would be sold to the C&NW, becoming C&NW 4117. 4117 would make it onto the UP roster and was retired in 1996. |
